Wonderful life in a handful of soil
If you look at a handful of healthy soil, you can be sure that is inhabited by more bacteria than the number of people on the earth. One gram of soil contains many millions of bacteria, and their number can even reach three billion in an ideal case. These small monoplasted living organisms multiply by bipartition so quickly that in ideal circumstances out of one single bacterium sixteen billion bacteria come into being in 24 hours.
Bacteria play an indispensable role in the sustainability of soil fertility as they fix the nitrogen of air and turn it into a form that is absorbable by plants. They also help the uptake of phosphorus and potassium of soils and they take care of the decomposition of organic substances that get into the soil.
Unfortunately owing to the agricultural practices of the last decades, especially the intensive use of chemical fertilizers, the number of bacteria has decreased significantly. As a result of this, cultivated crops need more and more chemical fertilisers, they are more susceptible to diseases and they are more vulnerable to drought.
With the application of a preparation containing scientifically compiled bacterium stocks, wonderful new life can be generated in the soil, owing to which the amount of chemical fertilisers can be reduced significantly. Plants that develop more vigorously and that are more resistant to diseases and droughts can bring reliable yield and thus more profit.
